Presidents Message

Lakeland Super Camps it's our 28th anniversary.

28years of evaluating hockey players and still operating. We are very proud of our record with assisting hockey players to achieve their goals in hockey. As a result of attending our camps we have players in all pro leagues in North America, Europe, in Canadian and American colleges and universities and all levels of junior hockey in the United States and Canada. The coaches that worked our camps are coaching in the leagues mentioned above.

In the 27 years we have had our camps in numerous cities in Canada and the United States. Cities were deleted and new ones added in the 27 years because of lack of interest and setting up new areas to introduce our evaluation camps to new areas of Canada and the United States.

Throughout the years we had some new programs and deleted old ones that were weak. Adding 2 goalie sessions to our camps was a big benefit for the goalies. Now the coaches can watch them in game situations and rate their skill levels in goalie sessions. Also for the dedicated hockey player he can have two more ice times shooting at the goalies.

The strong point of the Lakeland Hockey Camps is we offer a minimum of five ice times (1 practise and 4 games), to our players in a weekend. By keeping the teams to a manageable number, the players get plenty of ice time creating more opportunities for coaches to rate them. Beside the one practise and four games, players that make the All-Star teams play an extra game. Lakeland camps are cost efficient to parents by playing four games in a weekend.

Coaches that work the Lakeland camps are in charge of coaching a team for the weekend. He works the bench with the team and has a one on one with his team members. Because of this policy the players usually get invited to a junior camp if his coach was a junior coach. Usually he will also get a more indepth look by the coach at the camp because the coach knows him personally from the Lakeland Camp. College coaches that work the camps have the benefit of watching the progress of younger players and to rate Junior players that attend our camp. We have a great success record of junior players getting into American colleges through our camps.

In deciding what you want or do in hockey we feel we can give you an opportunity to look at your options through our camps. Our coaches can help you decide what is your best option, play at the same level or start looking at a higher level. We have a coaching seminar where the coaches talk about their programs and leagues:

  • College hockey; What is required to obtain a scholarship, eligibility rules?
  • Junior hockey; What are the costs and responsibilities to a parent when your son plays in Jr. B or Jr. A in Canada and the USA?
